AI readability checker: is your passage easy for AI engines to quote?

AI engines prefer passages that answer one question directly in about 40 to 60 words, in short sentences, with a specific figure. This checker scores your passage on length, reading ease, sentence length, specificity and directness. It runs in your browser and sends no text anywhere.

How does the ai answer-readiness scorer work?

Borrowed from Linguistics: Flesch reading ease plus answer-block checks

Flesch=206.835−1.015WS−84.6YW\text{Flesch} = 206.835 - 1.015\frac{W}{S} - 84.6\frac{Y}{W}

The score combines the Flesch reading ease formula from linguistics with four checks that match how answer engines pick passages. It is a guide for editing, and does not reproduce any engine's ranking.

Paste the answer that sits under a heading. Fix the failed checks, then test again.

Worked example

A 55-word answer with short sentences, one named figure and an answer in the first sentence passes all five checks and scores 100. A 120-word paragraph with long sentences usually fails length, ease and sentence checks.

How should I read my result?

Score below 50

Rewrite the passage. Start with the answer and cut it to 40 to 60 words.

Score from 50 to 80

Fix the failed checks below, usually sentence length or a missing figure.

Score above 80

The passage is ready. Add a named source for any statistic.

Questions about ai answer-readiness scorer

Does a high score guarantee AI citations?

No. The score measures how quotable a passage is. Citations also depend on your site's authority and on the engine.

No. The check runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.

Why 40 to 60 words?

It is long enough to answer fully and short enough for an engine to quote in one piece.
